Our Mission
“Provide old fashion quality furniture and service in a way that embraces today's technology and styles while blending it with the values of yesteryear.”
So what does this mean?
We want to offer you the kinds of products and service that are becoming increasingly difficult to find in our modern world of disposable goods and surface interactions. That’s why our collection is a curated selection of solid wood furniture that is expertly crafted in the USA from only premium American hardwoods.
These are the kinds of pieces your grandparents and great grandparents would have bought or made. Solid hardwood furniture not only holds its value, but it has the ability to connect generations.
When cared for, these will be your new family heirlooms. Sure, the first scratch or dent might be heartbreaking, but imagine your grandchildren gathered around the table telling their children about the time Grandpa got mad and slammed his fork down on Grandma's cherry wood table- prongs first! True story.
One of our customer told us the story about the time his Grandfather did just that. He was just a child at the time, but he still remembers the look on his Grandmother's face. Now his older sister has that table and they look at those prong holes and retell the story at every family gathering. He wanted to have something like that to impart to his children. Maybe not the little holes, but the legacy of time spent together.
Or memories of waking up on a Saturday morning after a huge thunderstorm with the entire family all huddled in bed. How many kids can climb into mom and dad's bed? As many as you have!
It’s no fun to talk about, but let's be honest, no one is going to fight over a particle board bed or veneer table when you’re gone.
As a family owned- but more importantly, a family operated- business, it's important that we are always available before, during, and after your purchase. We want to work with you to provide any assistance that you may require. From choosing the perfect hardwood, color and complimenting pieces to table set up and table settings.
The most important word in all of that? Available. We’ll be available to you if you need us. And if you don’t, we won't pester you or spam your email.
In addition to being a family owned and operated business, we’re also parents. We strive to be good stewards of the earth and to ensure that the forests that make our furniture possible are stronger and more abundant for our children.
We hold the craftsmen and women we work with to the same high standard! When we look to work with someone, we want them to feel the same way that we do; doing their part to source all of their materials from sustainably managed or local sources.
In 2017, we are partnering with One Tree Planted to plant at least one tree for every piece of furniture we sell. Our goal this year will be to plant 3000 trees in the US.
Our utmost value at Home and Timber is family. Thank you for considering us to provide your family with a place to gather, make memories, and to help contribute a piece to your family's legacy of memories.
